You’ve seen them on Netflix\, Hulu\, Comedy Central\, all manner of Late Night performances\, and even some of your favorite television shows! \n\n\n\nCome at 8:30 to enjoy the super-cozy lounge area\, grab some drinks and a snack\, and relax before the show which starts promptly at 9pm in the Courtroom theater.  \n\n\n\n—————————————- \n\n\n\nAT A GLANCE: \n\n\n\n\nHigh Note takes place on the First and Third Thursdays of every month.\n\n\n\nTickets are $10 in advance\, $15 at the door. \n\n\n\nThe show runs for about 90 minutes\, ending around 10:30.\n\n\n\nIllusion Magic Lounge has delicious snacks and appetizers available for purchase.\n\n\n\nThe bar remains staffed during the show\, feel free to get a refill! There is no drink minimum at High Note. \n\n\n\n\n—————————————- \n\n\n\nGETTING THERE: \n\n\n\n\nThe fastest way to get to Illusion Magic Lounge is to simply take the 10 towards Santa Monica\, take the 5th St/4th St. exit\, turn right on to 4th\, and park in Structure 5. \n\n\n\nParking Structure 5 is right next door to the venue and is free for the first hour and a half. As that’s roughly the length of our show\, you’ll likely be at the 2 hour mark which is only $2. If you get to Santa Monica early or stay later\, parking rates are very reasonable at $5 for 3hrs and $9 for 4hrs.\n\n\n\nThe Metro E-Line stretches from East LA\, through DTLA\, and all the way to Santa Monica where it stops 2 blocks away from our show. Please contact the Event Producer for any questions related to this event.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets @ Eventbrite\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLighting Workshop for Dancers and Burlesque Performers. \n\n\n\nYou have an amazing act\, learn how to make it shine! \n\n\n\nIn this 90 minute class veteran performer and theatrical lighting designer Max Moxie will teach you how to use light to make your act dazzle in any setting. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re performing ambience at a house party or headlining on a proscenium stage\, learn how correct lighting makes your costume shine and every move explode off the stage! \n\n\n\nHere’s what you’ll get in this class: \n\n\n\n• How to craft professional lighting for your act \n\n\n\n• How to identify and utilize available lighting in any size venue \n\n\n\n• How to communicate lighting requests with venues ahead of time \n\n\n\n• How to adjust acts based on lighting \n\n\n\nClass will be taught in person at Illusion Magic Lounge. She first studied dance at a young age\, going on to star in a national tour of a Broadway musical. Branching from these theatre roots\, Dana studied non-traditional performance techniques around the world; a pursuit which developed her signature blend of folk\, Gothic\, and vaudeville influences. Today\, Dana continues to combine music\, dance\, and acting in a variety of unexpected ways\, from clowning to immersive theatre to virtual reality. Additionally\, Dana is a professional vocal coach and dance instructor. Dana uses her musical theatre training mixed with a love of folk and ethereal sounds in her songwriting. Today Dana’s writing has been featured in theatrical performances and placed in film.
