As a musical project, Vasya Oblomov became famous in 2010 thanks to the satirical music video “Going to Magadan.” Oblomov is one of the first independent Russian artists who became famous thanks to the Internet, bypassing radio and television. The lively audience interest itself eventually forced traditional media to pay attention to the artist. Over the 13 years of his existence, Vasya Oblomov received a large number of various awards, performed on all possible Russian and other TV channels, major festivals, wrote music and songs for the most popular Russian films, released 6 full-length albums, each of which took first place in listening on digital platforms , wrote many satirical songs on informational issues, took part in the scandalous project Citizen Poet, and Vasily Oblomov’s videos collect tens of millions of views. Oblomov is one of the few Russian musicians who have performed since 2012 at major protest rallies in Moscow and openly criticized the Russian authorities, which ultimately earned them their long-standing dislike. In 2022, all concerts of Vasily Oblomov in Russia, as well as all those artists who openly opposed military action, were banned.
The new program is called – WE MIGHT NOT REPEAT. It will include everyone’s favorite hits of Vasya Oblomov throughout his history, which do not lose their relevance. And completely new works are on the agenda in every sense of these words.
