About our Performers
https://www.thecosmicromantics.com
Elizabeth Messick and Eric Thirstin (The Cosmic Romantics) perform world class magic with the flair of an old vaudevillian duo. They are regulars at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and recently fooled their childhood heroes Penn & Teller.
Elizabeth Messick
Elizabeth Messick is a female magician based in Los Angeles, CA. She is a powerhouse in the variety world, performing her own vintage blend of magic and music at venues such as House of Blues, The Magic Castle, Brookledge Follies, Meltdown Comics, The Globe Theater, and just about everywhere else. Beginning her career in the Long Beach music scene, she fronted Golden Afternoon, which the LA Times described as “If Tom Waits and Ella Fitzgerald had a baby.”
Next, Elizabeth took on the magic world, studying at The Magic Circle in London and the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, where she currently performs with her vaudevillian double act, The Cosmic Romantics. You can see Elizabeth in Netflix’s emmy-winning children’s show Ada Twist, Scientist or the feature film Marvelous and the Black Hole, an official selection at Sundance Film Festival. Her corporate clients include Google and U.S. Bank.
Eric Thirstin
Eric “Thirstin” Siegel has consulted for the Disney Channel and several of L.A.’s top magicians. The Chicago Tribune praised his work as “pushing the boundaries of long form storytelling,” and The L.A. times said his magic “stands apart through its emphasis on character and theater.”
Born into a magic family, Eric took a break after college to perform comedy in Chicago at venues such as Second City and The Annoyance, in addition to being featured at Chicago Sketch Fest, Sketch Fest NYC, and the TBS Just for Laughs Festival. He won two Del Awards at iO Chicago including one for best written show.
Eric currently resides in Los Angeles, performing regularly at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and serving on their various committees. His vaudevillian double act, The Cosmic Romantics, performs at private events around the country and was recently featured on The CW’s 10th season of Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Eric is always pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a magician, and the top secret book he’s in the middle of writing will do no less than redefine the art form.
